I’ve been a hairstylist for as long as I can remember and I promise I’m not exaggerating.

When I was about 24, I decided to leave college and enroll in cosmetology school. I was terrified to tell my parents, especially my Dad, who held three college degrees. To my surprise, he simply said, “Okay, if that’s what you want to do.”

Then he reminded me of something I hadn’t really thought about. He could always tell my Barbies from my sisters’ because their hair was done. I was the one who wanted the Barbie Hair Salon, did my own hair, and did my little friends’ hair.

And now, 23+ years later, I am indeed still a hairstylist.

Outside of the salon, I love educational TV I’m full of useful information from history to gardening and cooking and Jane Austen movies are my weakness.

I love sharing stories with my clients, but my chair is the equivalent of Las Vegas: what happens in my chair stays in my chair.

After hair care, creating a safe space filled with fun, laughter, and no judgment is one of my highest priorities.
